What is Making a step change for young carers and their families?

Funded by the Department for Education, Carers Trust and The Children’s Society are co-delivering a two year project which aims to identify, champion and embed best practice in supporting families with young carers.
We are building capacity and awareness with key stakeholders and decision makers across England via events, resources and online support to ensure positive practice is embedded. The partnership will evaluate effective pathways in whole family working by grant funding four ‘Integrated Interventions’ sites between statutory and voluntary sector partners.

Aims:

• Provide clarity and develop a shared
  understanding on the changes in law for young carers and their families and what it means for local implementation.
• Inform and disseminate national guidance and protocols and provide opportunities to input into public consultation on regulations and guidance.
• Build, showcase and embed preventative practice and pathways for young carers and their families.
